A GOURMET TREK TO STRATFORD

Join ChowBella on an epicurean trek to one of Ontario’s newest designated culinary hotspots – Stratford. Upon arrival in the picturesque and historic town, your guide will greet you with locally roasted coffee or hand-blended teas and homemade breakfast delicacies, which will tie you over until lunch.

Next, embark on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Stratford Festival’s Warehouse, the third-largest costume warehouse in North America, followed by lunch made with local, seasonal ingredients and prepared by one of Stratford’s many celebrated chefs.

The afternoon will spent in the lush countryside of Perth County, where you will visit two farms, work amongst the various heritage vegetables with Food Network’s Manic Organic, Antony John, at his farm Soiled Reputation, as well as feed the Tamworth pigs and wild boar with heritage pork farmer, Fred de Martines. The day ends on a culinary high with a fun and interactive scavenger hunt in some of downtown Stratford’s best food shops. Here you’ll sample handmade chocolates and chutneys, locally made breads and cheese, craft brews and more.

Note: We are currently only booking private tours for this excursion. Please contact us directly for pricing. Stay tuned for the public group tours, which will be available again starting in summer 2010.
